Meaning of the Name
Hesed is the Hebrew word for "kindness." It is also commonly translated as "loving kindness," or "love" and even "mercy." The more I learn about the meaning/translation of the word hesed, the more in awe of it I am.
Michael Card, in his book Inexpressible- Hesed and the Mystery of God's Lovingkindness says:
"This book is founded on this inexpressible mystery in general and on perhaps the most mysterious and inexpressible word of all, the Hebrew word hesed."
Yoga is a Sanskrit word that means to "yoke" or to "unite".
At Hesed Yoga, we strive to offer you ways to become aware of your body, to listen to your body and help you "yoke" your Body, Mind and Soul. The end result being the ability to show "hesed" or kindness to your body.
Our classes help you to achieve increased flexibility as well as strength and balance.
We give you a place to take time out of your busy life to listen, to learn, to love.

Tim Bodenstein
I was born in Sapulpa, OK and grew up in Kiefer, OK and lived in the same house from birth until I moved away to college at the age of 24. I have an Associate Degree in Foodservice Management and Culinary Arts from OSU Tech in Okmulgee, OK and began working in the food industry at age 14. At the age of 23, I received a call into a ministry setting and left the foodservice field to pursue a degree in Religion. In 1998 I received a B.A. in Religion with an emphasis in Christian Education from Oklahoma City University. I have worked in Youth and Children's ministry in several locations in both paid and volunteer status for over 20 years. While at OCU I met my wife. We have been married since 1998 and have one son. We lived as dorm parents at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics for 3 years and now reside in Weatherford, OK.
I experienced my first yoga class in Durham, NC while my wife and I were living there when she was completing her Masters of Divinity degree at Duke. Once we returned to Oklahoma in 2001, my interest in yoga continued and I tried to find yoga classes in the small towns where we lived, but this was hard to do. Once we moved to Oklahoma City, it became easier and I attended as many classes as possible and experienced different teachers and styles (thanks to the many teachers at the YMCA's in OKC).
I decided to deepen my yoga practice and found a 200 hour yoga teacher training in Norman, OK at YogaLife Studios. I joined the training class in 2010 and I am now an ERYT 200 certified Yoga Instructor. The experience there was incredible and now I have the opportunity to pass this experience on to others. Thanks be to God for the support of my wife and family while doing this training and for understanding and indulging my passions.
I continue to study and learn in all my areas of interest.
Other interests include: Being a Husband and Father, playing the piano and singing, cooking, painting, making prayer beads, photography and health and nutrition issues(just to name a few). I also have a love and a passion for teaching Christian Spiritual Disciplines.
